Going forward, marching determined  Helmet and shield, battle ahead Head held high, sharpened eyes Look closely,  search for the foe Sword held tigh, get ready Someone's moving through the shadows Hiding in the dark mist Just waiting to make a move Get closer, crawl nearer Prepare for the strike Thirst for blood, self protection Let the blow quench the fear Strike with the sword released  Blood gushing through open wounds Uncovering the face of the enemy I look into her eyes And realize, I  just killed my love Protecting myself from pain Defending from hurt I attacked my own soul Losing forever the most important gift Given to me by the tree of life Taken from me by my own demons Imprisoned forever in my own self
